Climate change poses significant challenges, opportunities and risks that engineers must consider in fulfilling their professional responsibilities. With the degree of change happening in our current environment, we need a greater sense of responsibility in addressing climate change impacts, mitigation, and adaptation.

Engineers are responsible for minimising the impact of their work on the climate by adopting sustainable practices, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and engaging in sustainable design and building for resiliency.

Engineering New Zealand Te Ao Rangahau are committed to leading the profession to take action to address climate change through mitigation, transition, and adaptation. We are also committed to keeping engineers informed of the potential impacts the changing climate has on engineering and providing the tools to address it.
